Racism in England isn’t just isolated to the police and to soccer players. It also seems like any time people are in the same vehicle together, someone says some racist shit.
Lauren Socha, a Bafta-nominated actress famous for playing a foul-mouthed woman, has to serve 80 hours of community service after she went on a racist tirade against a London taxi driver after she thought he took a wrong turn. She originally denied having called him a “Paki” and other nasty things, but since the driver recorded the exchange there wasn’t much doubt.
There has also been a rash of incidents involving women on the London Underground and on London buses just randomly insulting black and brown people.
In the most recent Tube incident in which a woman was “racially abusing” others, she did have a pretty good excuse. Jacqueline Woodhouse had drunk an “unknown” amount of champagne that night. In a video of her rant, uploaded to YouTube, she is heard complaining loudly about all the “Pakistani fucking losers” and other foreigners.
“I used to live in England and now I live in the United Nations,” she says, clearly under the influence of champagne.
