Alleged judge allegedly shoots wheelchair-bound wife, allegedly

A retired Quebec judge allegedly shot his partially paralyzed and wheelchair-bound wife to shack up with his secretary, allegedly.

The prosecution outlined its case in the first-degree murder trial of former Superior Court judge Jacques Delisle today in Quebec City.

Delisle’s 71-year-old wife Marie-Nicole Rainville was partially paralyzed after suffering a stroke, had recently broken her ankle and used a wheelchair. Police originally thought she shot herself but the gunpowder residue was found on the palm of her hand rather than on the outside, which is how shooting yourself normally works (probably). Also, women tend not to commit suicide with guns, so the whole thing looks pretty suspicious (yes, it does).

Investigators later discovered that Delisle, 77, had an affair with his secretary and now suspect him of having gotten rid of his disabled wife in order to better sex up his mistress. Also, ew. Also, allegedly.

Delisle says he and his wife had an argument the morning of her death. After leaving the house to run some errands (which may or may not mean sex with his mistress), he says he returned to find her dead body with a revolver next to her.

Remember, nothing is proven, so these are all just allegations at the moment.
