The Toronto Sun reported recently that people, specifically women, like having sex while on vacation, but they dream about doing the nasty other places than their hotel rooms. This stunning conclusion came as the result of a poll conducted by Ipsos Reid on behalf of Tripcentral.ca. The poll of 1,013 women who traveled outside of Canada by plane found that one third of women surveyed dreamed of having sex outside of their hotel room and 43 per cent of them actually do it!
The top three places women fantasized about having sex were on the beach, in the ocean, and on a boat.
Richard Vanderlubbe, president of Tripcentral.ca, seemed pleasantly surprised by the finding.
“We always knew there was some underlying romantic need for people to get away and reconnect,” he said. “We’ve always wondered what impact this had on the decision to go away.”
Surprise! People like having sex.
While men might find this news titillating and think they will get lucky if they take a nice lady on vacation, they should remember that these are fantasies and it is highly likely that you aren’t the one they are fantasizing about.
Domestic efforts to keep tourism spending in the country through “staycations” may have a harder time competing against tropical paradises now that people know they can have sex there. Might we suggest a new “staycation” tourism campaign that highlights the great places Canada offers to have have sex in. Perhaps, while basking in the light of the peace flame in Ottawa? In a canoe? Or, in the glistening (read: oily) waters of the great lakes. Nothing gets women in the mood like questionable E. coli content (and if you like that you should go for a burger after).
