New poll shows federal parties pretty much exactly where they were last time

A new poll by Abacus Data shows the federal Conservatives leading the NDP and Liberals with 36 per cent support among decided voters. The NDP sits at 29 per cent and the Liberals at 22.

Of course, Abacus can’t guarantee how accurate this poll is; since the online survey was not a “random, probability based sample, a margin of error could not be calculated.”

Assuming the standard “+/- 3.0%, 19 times out of 20” margin of error, this is well within the general post-election trend of the Conservatives with slightly over a third of voters, the Liberals at about a fifth, and the NDP somewhere in between.

Still, let’s all pretend that this is big news.
