CIBC informs a customer by letter that he has died; customer disputes the claim

A New Brunswick man so angered CIBC that his bank killed him. Steven Fudge had a few too many late payments on his overdraft account, so people at the bank naturally assumed he had died. They sent a letter, addressed to Fudge, telling the man that he had passed away. How he was supposed to collect the letter from beyond the grave seems unclear.

The CBC found the loveable deadbeat alive and well, playing his guitar, breathing in, breathing out, and just generally being alive. His biggest concern was whether being dead would hurt his credit rating, although it would only make sense that bankers would be more likely to give money to a dead person, superstitious creatures that they are.
