A senior Canadian official has died in Ghana “after a hot session of sex and drugs,” according to Ghanaian news sources.
The Daily Guide Ghana reports that a senior official in charge of higher education in Canada died at the posh Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra. Although the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade has not released the name of the deceased, the Daily Guide writes that it was 54-year-old Darrell Prokopetz. The photo at right is taken from his LinkedIn profile, where he is listed as “Project Director at Government of Canada.” Prokopetz’s obituary in the Ottawa Citizen says that “Darrell spent his childhood in Humboldt, lived in Saskatoon and Ottawa and briefly in Washington, DC.” He spent 34 years as a civil servant.
Prokopetz was reportedly rushed to the hospital “in an unconscious state after an alleged overdose of cocaine, liquor and sex.” The sex was seemingly had with two different women, possibly prostitutes:
Sources told Daily Guide that the night before he met his tragic death, the Canadian was seen on close circuit television cameras chaperoning two beautiful girls separately into his hotel room. The two girls were said to have spent an hour each in the official’s room.
International trade minister Ed Fast was in Ghana last week as part of a trade mission. DFAIT claims Prokopetz was not associated with the trade mission.
