In all the excitement of Oscar weekend, you may have missed some urgent and important news out of Prince Edward Island reported by the Guardian.
No, not that Guardian. The Guardian newspaper in Charlottetown!
On Saturday, a fox in Stratford, P.E.I., caused a lot of excitement when it was spotted by a Guardian photographer snoozing by the side of the highway.
A red fox was seen taking a nap in the snow in Stratford Saturday and did not seem the least bit disturbed by vehicles whizzing by on the nearby Trans Canada Highway. It may have appeared to be half asleep, but as soon as the photographer started to move closer the fox was up and scurrying to the nearby woods.
Where did the fox come from? Why was it so sleepy? Did it seem aware that it was fast becoming a local celebrity? All these questions remain unanswered following the photographer’s clumsy mishandling of the whole situation.
Still, at least this story had a happy ending:
Thirty minutes later it was seen sleeping in the same place.
