That’s greater than the combined GDP of the 32 poorest countries in the world. Fortunately or unfortunately, more than half of the food waste in Canada is generated in the home, so the problem and solution starts with individual consumers.

A new paper titled “Zip-related genital injury" in the urology journal BJU International has some surprising (U.S.) statistics about how many men get their penises caught in zippers.
Between 2002 and 2010, 17,616 people went to the emergency room for zipper-related genital injuries. That’s about 2,000 caught genitals per year, with the penis “almost always the only genital organ involved,” according to the researchers at UC San Francisco.
Yet another reason men’s fashion needs to embrace the button fly.
