I’ll be honest: I have no idea how many people are already aware of or interested in Comedy Bang! Bang! Scott Aukerman has been doing a podcast by that name for almost four years — it was called Comedy Death-Ray until May 2011 — and the TV show aired its first season on IFC last year. Is it a hit? Do people watch it? They must, or it wouldn’t have a second season airing starting July 12.
I tend to consume my comedy in a bubble. I know everyone knows about Louis CK, but if it’s not a cultural touchstone I could be the first or last to the party and I would never know. So if you already like Aukerman’s work on CBB/CBB, this will be exciting for you. If you don’t already listen or watch, you should, because the list of actors and comedians who appear in the season two trailer alone is impressive, and there will be far more people appearing in the season itself.
