Canadian Senator Colin Kenny has a long history of creeping women out, with several making allegations against him over the years of inappropriate behaviour and at least one coerced blowjob. The latest allegation of sexual harassment came in November, when a former member of the Liberal senator’s staff alleged Kenny made unwelcome sexual comments.
Now a preliminary report into Kenny’s behaviour claims he also misused his office resources. According to CTV, investigators who pored over hundreds of documents say he asked his assistant, Pascale Brisson, to do a whole bunch of non-governmental work, including:
- getting his clothes tailored
- paying a dog-walker
- and getting his drug prescriptions, which included erectile dysfunction medication.
As CTV notes, the report doesn’t reach any conclusions and Kenny has denied all the allegations, but Brisson is hardly the first woman to complain about his behaviour.
As CBC News reported late last year, Kenny was part of a NATO Parliamentary Assembly in 2001 where he allegedly made frequent phone calls to two different women and gave them “unwelcome” attention — so much so that the head of the Canadian delegation was urged to exclude him from future activities.
The most serious allegation against Kenny comes from two former employees at a tanning salon owned by the senator.
Candace Amis, who worked for Kenny in 2003, accused him of coercing her into taking her shirt off and performing oral sex on him or else lose her job. Amis, who was 19 at the time and relied on the income, told CBC she ultimately gave in. Another employee told the news network that Kenny was waiting in the tanning studio one day completely naked from the waist down, offering no apology when she came to work and saw him in that state.
The allegations against him have never been proven in court and Kenny denies them.
Update: Five more women have come forward.
